All of us know someone, or of someone, who has been diagnosed with cancer. We all know the physical toll that cancer takes on the human body and most of us are well aware of the mental toll that the ever increasing medical bills and strict treatment schedules can take as well. But what kind of impact does this diagnosis and treatment have on a person’s confidence, self worth and femininity?
A recent cancer surviving boudoir client explained that cancer had not only stripped her of her health, but of her confidence and femininity as well. Since losing her hair she no longer looked at herself as beautiful or sexy. That was until her boudoir session.
The Bald and the Beautiful Project offers boudoir and glamour photography sessions for cancer patient and survivors who are nominated by friends and/or family for a session. The idea started this year when Jamie Davis, a California boudoir photographer, found a need through a friend to spread awareness in the community and show the inner beauty of the women that are the face of cancer. She felt the urge to encourage and empower women that have been diagnosed with cancer to believe in their inner beauty and not rely on hair to feel empowered and gorgeous.
We strongly believe in the mission of The Bald and the Beautiful project and were excited to connect with them last April. Currently, the Bald and the Beautiful project has boudoir and glamour photographers in Phoenix AZ, Atlanta GA, Northern VA, Charlotte NC and Warrenton VA. Now, we are proud to announce that we will be joining the project as the boudoir and glamour photographer representing the Las Vegas area.
If you would like to nominate yourself or someone you know for a Bald and Beautiful session, you can visit The Bald and the Beautiful Project online to fill out the nomination form.
If you are a boudoir/glamour photographer from an area not currently represented by the project and would like to be a part of this amazing experience, you can send an email to email@example.com and someone will get back to you.
